I took the images pre-loaded with the library computer software to start an account with FLICKR. My URL ends with "mistahilliard" and I think the password is the same one I've been using throughout. FLICKR could be a very valuable tool for my publicity manager. I will get her to work on it as soon as she is finished with mega-volumes of administrative tasks.

Thing number 3: Search Engines

After creating the blog, reading roughly through the Technorati State of the Blogosphere and, motivated by vanity and ignorance, searching for myself, Mr. Hilliard Branch, in various search engines, I came up with nothing. Must be Friday morning.

I employed the "Ping" feature in Technorati, hoping I might somehow make a public appearance in the Blogosphere. Guess I have to wait. Fine by me, there's grass to chew and fresh water in the trough.

Thing 2: What is Web 2.0

I see big blue and yellow spots spots of light on Steve Abrams head as he is portrayed in the bite-sized video as a talking head. His purple pink face turns and tilts as verbiage spills out of his mouth. He talks nonchalantly about the magnanimous changes ahead. No doubt librarians as well as others will perceive information and the world differently as a result of new technology.

My apologies for running a few days late. I just got back from Poets Boot Camp (a grueling but rewarding experience) If you're lucky and I'm not too shy, I'll subject you to some of my bad poetry in the course of this adventure.
